President Jonathan L. Stute, M.A.


    Jonathan Stute lives in Minnesota with my wife of 6 years and my three children who are 3, 4, and 6 two of whom are recently adopted sisters. He has six years of experience in professional youth ministry which he just left in order to teach online at the University of Notre Dame and be a stay at home dad. He received a master’s degree in theology, focusing mostly in Sacred Scripture. After graduating from the Augustine Institute, Jonathan moved on to Holy Apostles College and Seminary to pursue a master’s degree in philosophy where his primary areas of study are natural theology, metaphysics, and atheism. He is in his last year of his MA in Philosophy program and plans to continue my studies at the University of South Africa and the Catholic University of Lublin. While at Holy Apostles, he founded an academic journal, hosts a radio show, contributed to the USCCB workshop on intercultural competencies, facilitated a partnership between Holy Apostles and the University of South Africa, and has served as a TA for several courses.

    In his fleeting spare time, he watches Korean TV with his wife and practice martial arts. Jonathan holds black belts in karate and tae kwon do and has been practicing jujitsu and MMA intermittently for about 3 years.

      Michael Parisi

      Michael Parisi currently works as the Director of Formation and Mission at St. Camillus Parish, New Castle, PA. In this position, he is responsible for overseeing the Youth and Young Adult Ministry activities at the Parish, as well engaging the families of the Parish to organize volunteer groups for the various parish ministries and events. Originally from Reading, PA, Michael is blessed to have a family of strong, Catholic identity, and he was raised with a Catholic education since pre-school. He continued his education at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, where he completed a B.A. in Theology and Philosophy with a minor in Politics in 2014. Now living in the Greater Pittsburgh area, he is looking forward to begin a new chapter in life with his beautiful fiancée, Michelle, upon their wedding in September, 2016.

          I’m a 24 year old sophomore college seminarian at Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary in Indianapolis, working towards my BA in philosophy at Marian University, (also in Indy).  I study for the diocese of Springfield, Illinois.  I started a blog of my own – Under the Mercy ( – last semester, in which I offer my thoughts on various topics within Catholic philosophy and theology, directed mainly at my fellow seminarians, classmates, and peers.

              Cynthia Buttjer received a Master’s in Philosophy from Holy Apostles College and Seminary, a Master’s in Theology from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Iowa. She currently lives and works in Northern Virginia. She is a Latin Catholic who loves to worship at a Melkite Greek-Catholic church. She is particularly interested in the papal and pre-papal works of John Paul II. Some of her past ministry work includes marriage preparation, Confirmation preparation, and delivering talks on the theology of the body.

                      Sister Mary Rose Reddy, DMML is a Daughter of Mary, Mother of Healing Love living in Rochester, NH with seven other Sisters. She has been a religious Sister since 1980. She has a great love for Sacred Scripture, the Holy Spirit, the Blessed Mother, and the Theology of the Body. She holds a Master of Theology degree (with a concentration in Moral Theology) from Holy Apostles College and Seminary.

                          Ed Johansen

                          Ed Johansen writes from rural Iowa. He is husband to his beautiful bride Emily and father of a passel of delightful children.
                          He holds a B.A. in philosophy from Regina Apostolorum in Rome and an M.A. in philosophy from HACS.  He enjoys splitting firewood, spontaneous road trips with no clear destination and apologetics.  Ed is self-employed.

                              David Taccolini

                              David Taccolini is a CPA and the Chief Financial Officer for Service Brands International, the franchisor of several home service franchise concepts throughout the US and Canada.  He has been married for 25 years and has six children between the ages of 13 and 23 and lives in Ann Arbor, MI.  Four of his kids are currently doing either undergraduate or graduate college work. He is three classes short of his masters in Moral Theology with Holy Apostles College and Seminary with the goal of completing his masters before his oldest son completes his masters in Philosophy. His desire is to be able to one day retire from the CFO side of his career and begin a second one teaching at a Catholic high school.  With four kids in college, however, that probably won’t be too soon.

                                  Isabel Nolan is pursuing an M.A. in Theology with a concentration in Bioethics at Holy Apostles College and Seminary.  She graduated from Ave Maria University with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy.  Isabel has been an Edmund Burke Fellow with the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute (C-Fam). Currently she teaches 5th and 6th grade at a Catholic school in Philadelphia where she lives with her new husband.

                                      Sarah Maw is a nearly-annulled-single-mom of two beautiful children, Dominic and Siena. Although Irving, TX used to be her old stomping ground, she now resides on Cape Cod. Being a cradle Catholic from a big Irish family, she has been blessed with a lifetime of Catholic education. Sarah spent two years at Thomas More College, and she has recently returned to school to complete her BA at Holy Apostles College, double-majoring in Theology and English.                                         Shaun McAfee is a veteran of the Air Force and current civilian in the Army Corps of Engineers as a Contract Specialist.                                           David Rummelhoff is a stay-at-home father, writer, & catechist. He holds an M.A. in Dogmatic Theology from Holy Apostles College & Seminary. A former evangelical protestant, he studied theology at Biola University before earning a B.S. in Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati. David hails from Chicago but presently resides in Cincinnati with his wife, Emily, and their two daughters, Liv and Isla.                                             Ryan Mayer, M.A.

                                            Ryan Mayer is Theology department chair at Marin Catholic College Preparatory in the San Francisco Bay Area in California where he teaches courses in theology and bioethics and moderates the Respect Life club.  Ryan is a “revert” to the Catholic faith. He triple majored in philosophy, theology, and literature at Mt. Angel Seminary in Oregon and holds a MA in theology with a concentration in bioethics from Holy Apostles College & Seminary.  He earned a certification with distinction in health care ethics from the National Catholic Bioethics Center in Philadelphia and has been published in their journal, National Catholic Bioethics Quarterly.  He is currently completing a MA in philosophy from Holy Apostles.

                                            Ryan lives in the Bay Area with his wife, who is also a high school teacher, and two sons, Jude and Henry.  Besides philosophy and theology, Ryan enjoys apologetics, food, homebrewing, hockey, and playing with Legos.

                                                Ali Ghaffari, M.A.

                                                Ali Ghaffari is a F/A-18 Pilot in the US Navy.  He is a convert to Catholicism, and his conversion story has been published in Envoy Magazine.  Ali earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology at Colby College and is now the proud holder of two Master of Arts degrees from Holy Apostles College and Seminary – Philosophy and Theology, each with concentrations in History.

                                                Ali lives in central California with his wife, Mary, who is a Clinical Pharmacist (and convert to the faith), his three young daughters, Reyna, Kaelyn, and Natalie, and their dog, Zoey.

                                                    Matt Bauer

                                                    Matthew Bauer is a convert to the Holy Roman Catholic Church after a lengthy but fruitful journey through many denominations of protestantism. He is currently studying Philosophy and Theology at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. He plans on pursuing his Ph.D. in Philosophy, concentrating on Ancient & Medieval Philosophy.

                                                          Rebecca Royse

                                                          Rebecca is pursuing her Masters in Moral Theology with Holy Apostles College and Seminary. She is the Coordinator of Marriage and Family for the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston. The teachings on marriage, family, and morality are what brought Rebecca, (a cradle Catholic) and her husband (a convert to Catholicism) home to the Catholic Church.                                                               David Anderson, M.A.

                                                              David Anderson has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and Theology and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, LA. He was a seminarian for three years until discerning the married vocation. His theological interests include studying biblical languages, the Early Church, Morality, and a little Canon Law. He is also very interested in technology as he worked in the IT industry for seven years before changing professions. He teaches Ecclessiology, Christology, and Morality at a Catholic high school. He has been married for six years, has two children, and lives on the Gulf Coast.

                                                                      Greg Lynch is a Catholic and Independent School teacher/coach, who has experience teaching Latin, English, The Sacraments, and Catholic Church History.                                                                           Dr. Randall Colton teaches philosophy at Cardinal Glennon College of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in St. Louis, where he also lives with his wife and seven children.  He is the author of Repetition and the Fullness of Time: Gift, Task, and Narrative in Kierkegaard’s Upbuilding Ethics in the Mercer Kierkegaard Studies Series, and has published in such venues as  The Thomist, the International Kierkegaard Commentary, and This Rock/Catholic Answers Magazine.
