Christ is Born! Glorify Him!

As we enter into the celebration of the Nativity of Christ, The Saint John Paul II Bioethics Center is pleased to announce the publication of Volume I of The Saint John Paul II Journal of Bioethics.

The journal will be a regular feature of the Bioethics Center. It will focus on scholarship exploring the relationship between technology, morals, and ethics with themes drawn from the writings of Saint John Paul II. It will also present cultural expression related to the same topic through visual arts, music, poetry and more.

The first volume contains original articles on human cloning and three parent embryos, criteria for assessing anatomical gifts, the relationship between physician and patient, and the potential for therapeutic intervention in cases of ectopic pregnancy. The volume’s cultural expression presents a stunning icon of Saint Josemaria Escriva with explanatory text and a video of Mozart’s Coronation Mass celebrated by Saint John Paul the Great.

The preface to the journal provides a brief introduction as well as instructions for submissions for publication in future volumes. Inquiries may be directed to the Center’s Director and the editor of the journal, Deacon Tom Davis, via email at tdavis@holyapostles.edu.
