Richard Birdsall, contributorRichard Birdsall holds a MA in Philosophy from Holy Apostles College & Seminary, as well as a Masters in Public Administration from the University of North Florida.

Richard is a retired computer systems manager with the Federal Aviation Administration. He is the founder and manager of the HACS online bookstore and currently is an instructor at Florida State College at Jacksonville.

He lives in Jacksonville with his wife of 38 years, Marian.

 

Dr. Sebastian Mahfood, O.P.

Sebastian Mahfood, ContributorDr. Sebastian Mahfood, OP, serves as Vice-President of Administration at Holy Apostles College & Seminary in Cromwell, CT, and Provost of the Sacred Heart Institute for the Ongoing Formation of Clergy in Huntington, NY. He is a Lay Dominican of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Chapter in the Province of St. Albert the Great.

He holds a doctorate in postcolonial literature and theory from Saint Louis University along with several master’s degrees in the fields of comparative literature, philosophy, theology, and educational technology.

Among his publications include his book on African narrative socialism entitled Radical Eschatologies: Embracing the Eschaton in the Works of Ngugi wa Thiong’o, Nuruddin Farah, and Ayi Kwei Armah. He lives in St. Louis with his wife, Dr. Stephanie Mahfood, and children, Alexander and Eva Ruth.

Dr. Daniel Van Slyke, S.T.L., Ph.D.

Dr. Van Slyke Profile PicDaniel G. Van Slyke, S.T.L., Ph.D. is Associate Dean of Online Learning at Holy Apostles College and Seminary. With training in historical theology (Ph.D., Saint Louis University), systematic sacramental theology (S.T.L., Mundelein Seminary), and moral theology (M.A., University of Dallas), Dr Van Slyke has made numerous contributions to scholarship and is an active member in several professional organizations where he has delivered numerous papers at scholarly conferences and workshops.

For eight years he sat as an elected member on the board of directors of the Society for Catholic Liturgy. For five years he served on the editorial staff of Antiphon: A Journal for Liturgical Renewal, and he currently serves as associate copy editor of the Seminary Journal.

Dr. Van Slyke lives in the Dallas-Ft Worth area of the great state of Texas with his wife and their seven children.

Stephen Bujno, M.A.

rsz_stephen_bujno-profileStephen Bujno teaches Moral Theology at Berks Catholic High School in Reading, PA.  He also has owned and operated Bujno Pottery with this wife since 1991. Stephen is the President of the Dead Philosophers Society.

Stephen has a BA in Studio Art from Bloomsburg University, Bloomsburg, PA and an MA in Moral Theology from the Graduate School of Theology at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia, PA, and an MA in Philosophy of the Human Person at Holy Apostles College and Seminary, where he volunteers as a tutor for the Online Writing Lab (OWL). He writes regularly and has been peer-reviewed published on the topics of liturgy, anthropology and social justice. Stephen also teaches accreditation classes for the Allentown Diocese, along with the Philosophical and Theological approaches to the Unitive/Procreative and Contraception concepts for Marriage Preparation.

He lives in Adamstown, PA with his wife of 25 years, Tina and his two daughters, Christi and Stephanie. His oldest daughter, Nicole, her husband Michael and his two granddaughters Hannah and Aubrey live a short walk away…close enough for daily visits!
